2012 Dangerfield Champions

Article by: Sam Skibbe

Well, it's official. The SWBL Pirates are now the 2012 Dangerfield Champions of the National Wiffleball League Association.

It started with 32 of the worst teams in the country facing off to see who could become the worst team of them all. The Pirates, seeded #1, rolled through their first 3 rounds against the #8 Terrorhawks, #4 Ballers, and the #3 Isotopes to make it to the Dangerfield Final Four. They they had their toughest (or easiest) test yet. After a battle of another winless team, the Have Fun Out Theres, the Pirates moved on to the finals to face off against a surprise #8 seed, Team King Friday from the WSEM.

Today, the Pirates were crowned the Champs and now can claim the title of the worst team in the country for the 2012 year. They have already parted ways with Kevin W and Rob W and will enter next season with the number one pick in the draft and are number one on the waiver wire. No matter who they pick up, I think it's safe to say, this team will be pre ranked #8, no questions asked.

The 2012 SWBL Pirates included: Andy Oldenburg (Captain), Grant Steward, Rob Walters, and Kevin Wietuchter.

2012 SWBL Pirates Stats: 0-10 Record, -81 Run Differential, and all three teammates in bottom 10 of almost all offensive categories.
